These epigenetic processes cause our genes to behave or "express themselves" differently and enable self correction for: tooth alignment, improved facial and skull architecture and development, treatment of TMD issues and an enhanced upper airway, all without surgery or drugs. The result is improved structural form and physiological function, referred to as craniofacial homeostasis. This foundational correction, together with functional correction (oral myology), can result in a very pleasing smile. There are also applications to use this appliance in the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).

For some Calgary area orthodontics patients, the exciting part of this method is wearing a removable appliance in the early evening and at night time but not during the day. This allows the necessary physiologic processes to take place through gene expression and further development even if you are a busy adult!
