There are a variety of dental appliances used in our Airdrie (and Calgary area) dental office depending on your treatment goals. A few of our main appliances are highlighted below.

Removable orthotic - used in neuromuscular and TMD therapy. They are successful in relieving symptoms, like face pain and headaches, while providing support to the muscles and joints. Sometimes referred to as a splint.

Bonded orthotic - used in phase I diagnostic neuromuscular and TMD therapy. It is temporarily bonded to your teeth for several months allowing symptomatic relief of pain and healing of the muscles and joints. Precisely made after an analysis with our K7 technology, it is usually followed by phase II treatment involving rehabilitation or orthodontic therapy.

Night guard - an ideal help for our patients who have an issue with nightly bruxism - teeth grinding. This custom designed device will comfortably protect your teeth and gums from the pressure and wear that is caused by jaw clenching and teeth grinding while you sleep. Also called a splint.

Dorsal appliance - used to treat the conditions of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

DNA Appliance™ - a patented orthodontic device used by our to enable natural development of the teeth and jaws to an ideal functional position, while improving smile and facial aesthetics. This removable appliance allows your body to express your genetic potential and is an alternative to wearing full-time braces.

Makkar Pure Power Mouthguard™ - a custom designed sports guard used in a variety of sports that keeps your jaw aligned in its ideal relaxed position. This allows for improved oxygen intake and can enhance power, endurance and flexibility. The PPM is the secret weapon that top athletes use to maximize their performance.
